The 2024 International Pipeline Conference & Expo (IPCE) wrapped up in Calgary on September 27, marking its 15th successful year with over 8,500 attendees from more than 85 countries. This year’s bi-annual event, organized in partnership by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and dmg events, solidified its position as the world’s premier gathering of pipeline professionals and featured technical innovations and vital discussions on safety, sustainability and the future of energy infrastructure.

Key highlights from IPCE 2024:

The Honourable Danielle Smith, Premier, Government of Alberta participated in discussions on pipeline safety and security.
Hundreds of companies exhibited the latest cutting-edge technology, products and innovations in the industry from pipeline monitoring technologies to sustainable materials. Interactive displays provided attendees with first-hand experience in the technological advances that are shaping the industry.
Delegates from around the world participated in panels and networking events, providing the opportunity to exchange best practices, explore new partnerships and discuss strategies to enhance the safety and integrity of global pipeline systems.
Peer reviewed technical papers were presented by leading global researchers, covering topics such as pipeline safety management systems, geohazard management, integrity, risk and reliability, and the use of emerging fuels.
Panels and special presentation sessions explored topics including project management, design, construction and environment; pipeline and facilities integrity; operations, monitoring and maintenance; materials and joining; strain-based design and assessment; offshore, upstream and production pipelines; and greenhouse gas emissions.
